Centeno Events is a family blog (Centeno and Robles) about anything and everything we want to write about. For now, it's only Jeni and I (Rizza) who are active contributors but I'm hoping that others will follow soon. You can see the owner of the post below the title and in the category it is posted in.
To other Centenos who might find us by accident, if we determine that you are a relative and you want to contribute or also want a family blog, just contact me and we'll talk about it.
Preparatory Level Graduation
Stella Maris Academy
Venue: Club Royale, Malolos, Bulacan
Date: March 25, 2010
Time: 12:00 – 2:30 PM
Their graduation fee might be high, but I was very satisfied with they way they organized the entire program. First, each section of their preparatory classes (they had 3) had their own time slots, so the venue was not crowded and the 2 hours of each program was dedicated to the 15-19 students in just one class. I am pretty sure each section did the same special numbers – it’s just logical for easier teaching and preparation, but the teachers did a wonderful job in training the kids to sing, recite poems and do the steps and hand gestures to fit their interpretations. Well, it doesn’t hurt that Patrick made funny expressions during the performances. I don’t really know how he could have done those funny faces and concentrate on singing at the same time. Remembering the steps while singing was hard enough for the other kids in his class.
Stella Maris applies the Multiple Intelligences principles of Howard Gardner and they hand out 7 intelligences awards in all their levels (pre-school, elementary and high school) aside from the achievements which they also give their students. Out of the 7 intelligences handed out that day:
So…I am now the official Wedding Coordinator for my cousin Cherrie’s wedding. And we have about 11 months to prepare everything. It’s an exciting process, full of lessons learned along the way. This would be our biggest family event so far, with budget big enough to wet my taste buds for grand events. And the best thing…I am getting paid hahaha not as much as other coordinators get, but at least the expenses for arranging things (like phone calls, transportation, food, etc) won’t have to come from my own pockets.
And here’s a video of Cherrie’s Pamanhikan, which is really fun to watch. I’m very sure they’ll treasure it and would show their children later on in life. Too bad I forgot to ask Carlo to bring his video camera. I had to make do with my Sony Cybershot Digital Cam.
I’ve been looking for a better theme for our blog and found this somewhere. I’m gonna see if I can do something with the banner first before I reject it. Give me some time to tinker with it.
Edited to add: Well, I think this is the best I can do with this theme. I really liked the banner I used before so I adapted it to the new theme. I think it looks okay. It could be better I’m sure, especially for those who really know their way around HTML and Photoshop. But I think I did an okay job…if I say so myself
no one could ever deny it. even i cant deny it, america makes some fucking good films and games..
BUT..
you know what i really hate? i fucking hate it when america re-makes something foreign. for example, ASIAN HORROR FILMS like Shutter, the Eye, the Grudge, the Ring etc. not alot of americans know that these shites were originally asian. the remakes, though superb in special effects, were HORRIBLE remakes. especially the ring. dude, i watched that movie way back, it was like my first non-american horror film (aside from those old filipino horror tv shows..haha) and i thought it was fucking incredible! i mean, cmon.. instead of poltergeists or a monster killing you only in your dreams or an axe murderer with all its given cliches, its this insane girl, pale like a wall and all wet, comin out of a fucking TV! haha seriously tho, i was paranoid of blank channels for a month after watching it. i still remember seeing her hands with fucked up fingernails and those gooey looking teeth. egh.
you know what i dont like? CHAIN LETTERS! so basically, this blog is a big “FUCK YOU!” to all the people who tought when you send these bullshites, that poor 6 year old girl in arkansas with a breast on her forehead will be able to raise enough money to have it removed before her redneck parents sell her off to the fucking freak show. do you honestly believe that bill gates is going to give you and everyone you send “his” email to, $1000?? dream on fuckers. and as if things couldnt get worse, you fucking tought that some kid whos got hit by some “unbelievably fast car” and was left bloody at some random curb and was dipped on lime and tonic would “somehow” get to your mom and kill her?? how stupid are you?? oh oh, and looky here… if i scroll down this page WITH MY EYES CLOSED while i fucking make a wish, ill get laid by every playboy model in the magazine!! what a bunch of bullshit.
i dont care if the evil leprechauns will come into my room and sodomize me in my sleep for not continuing YOUR chain which was started by jesus in 1 A.D and was ironicaly brought to this country by midget pilgrims and if it makes the year 2010, itll be in the guiness book of world records for the longest streak of BLATANT STUPIDITY. fuck you.
It fucking sucks. The collection may be satisfactory compared to other countries but everything else is fucking stupid. First of, some consoles are American and most of the time, they’re Japanese/Chinese. Sure, ASIAN made consoles give you the privilege of picking whichever DVD region you want, sure they’re much more cheaper.. but the game regions are all messed up. Some games are only available in region 1 and some in region 3. While this isn’t really a problem if you run your console on HDMI, it will make it harder for you to get DLCs. You’re gonna have to create an American account AND a SE Asian account. What makes it worse is that, lets say, you made a PSN account set t0 HongKong. Unless you have a credit card where the billing address is HongKong, then you’re gonna have to find PSN cards to get anything from the PSN store. I’ve only ever seen american PSN cards being sold here. And trust me, they cost a fortune.
Some might say these options are for the best and are fit for a country that has plenty of Chinese, Koreans, and Americans…. okay, i lied. No one says that. Do they sell Chinese playstations in the UK? Yeah… I don’t think so. more…
My cousin Alec is home for about a month, then on to his next assignment he will go for about a year. A new promotion was given to him so it’s another thing to celebrate. He surprised us all when he came home…didn’t tell us he was coming at all.
My cousin Grace also just came home from Singapore. She is now pregnant with their first child (3 months on the way) and that’s another thing to celebrate.
We had a very nice and sumptuous dinner courtesy of Tita Lulu and Tito Rico.

Whew! November and December were really, really crazy! It has always been the most hectic months for us because of our business, but this year is more crazy than normal what with preparing Eri’s 18th birthday party, the Ninja Assassin event for CloudPh and more.
But now, I finally have the time to tinker with this family blog I’ve been planning. And after leaving it for months with a boring theme, I finally found something better…I think. The banner is big enough to give me space for editing collages. I’m pretty sure I will find more leeway with the codes when I explore them more. I just need time.
So now, I can move forward to posting entries. I have tons of backlogs what with Sol and Jon-jon’s wedding, together with Totle, etc. Eri’s 18th b-day party is the most recent event though so I guess I’ll start with that. It was definitely a very exciting event for us. At least in our point of view hahaha.
Well…see you all in the next post. I hope I could tell good stories. For now, I’m off to prepare for a traditional after New Year dinner with my Ricky Martin friends: Mavic, Paulette and Princess. Sort of our yearly reunion. I can’t believe we have known each other for going on 12 years now – we met because we were all fans of Ricky Martin and we have become friends through the years.
It was a simple but special family event for us. We wanted to give our cousin, Marisol, a memorable wedding day despite their limited budget so we all pitched in. Jeni and I worked together on this for the first time. It helped a lot that my brother, Emer, was home for a vacation so I didn’t have to worry that much about the sound system.
We hired a photographer and Jeni used her new Nikon D80. Graphico sent a nice ptotographer, but his shot compositions were not as I expected. But for the price of 2,500 pesos, it’s a good bargain…that’s the only budget we have at that time. Good thing Jeni’s new camera arrived about 2 weeks before the wedding. Her shots had more “emotional” feel than the photographer’s. At least the formals look okay.
The food cooked by Tita Glo was absolutely delicious, especially the sea food mix. The lechon, courtesy of Cherry was also good and we had lots of “tira-tira” afterwards.
You can look at the best images I picked in the pages below. Please click the thumb images which will take you to a new page. I cannot put all the pictures in just one viewer though, so I divided them into sections.
And then here’s the video I made. It’s about 1 hour long and divided into 7 parts. Enjoy…
Because I am posting this almost a year after the actual wedding, I won’t put much of the details in words anymore. A blog entry is more exciting after the event, so I’m pretty sure my readers would understand me. Anyway, the pictures and videos speak for the event naman, so I don’t think there’s any need for me to elaborate.
Suffice it to say that we all had a great time and I am satisfied that we all did our best to give Sol a memorable and nice wedding.
